It was a good time at Whips Ballpark, where fans came to watch the Sunset District Fog and Pawnee ParksNRec get after it.
The Pawnee ParksNRec downed the Sunset District Fog, 8-3, at Whips Ballpark. Mario Castillo led the way, going 3-for-5 for Pawnee. The winner was Denver Milne, who threw 104 pitches over 5.2 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits. Luis Cuero earned the save, his 8th.
The ParksNRec got a big at-bat from Roberto Maestas. For the game, Maestas went 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 108th hit of the season gave Pawnee a 4-3 lead.
"We maximized our offense today," said Pawnee skipper Rusty Bennett. "That makes everyone's life easier."
Pawnee improves to 66-34 with the win. They lead their division by 5˝ games.
