Rocks Come Up Short at Athletic Club KC
|
In a tight contest at KC Reserve Stadium, the Athletic Club KC Reserves edged the Plymouth Rocks by the score of 7-1. The Athletic Club KC Reserves' left fielder Matt Hartnett, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. The winner was Athletic Club KC reliever Tim Risinger, now 6-0. The loser was Manuel Delgado. With the win, the Reserves improved to 50-42.
In the bottom of the first, Rubén López hit a 2-run home run for Athletic Club KC. The 13th home run of the season for the Athletic Club KC designated hitter put the Reserves on top, 3-1.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Athletic Club KC manager Hugh Howard.
