Pawnee ParksNRec starter Howard Ritchie turned in a top-notch performance against the Bakersfield Nobles at Jerome Grounds. The result was a win for the ParksNRec, 3-1. Melvin Morgan earned the save for Pawnee, his 11th of the year. Pawnee goes to 61-30. The win puts them 5½ games up in their division.
In the top of the 6th, first baseman Miguel Silva gave Pawnee the lead when he hit a 2-run home run. The ParksNRec had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out home run off Bakersfield pitcher John Kirk changed that -- and Pawnee went on to win.
"It was a solid team effort," said Silva after the game.
