Late Rally by Nobles Secures Win
The Bakersfield Nobles faced a tough opponent in Royse City pitcher Wally Wilkerson, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Royse City Stadium by a final score of 5-3. Wilkerson went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. The win puts the Nobles at 50-39, while the Targaryens drop to 54-35.

The most important at-bat for Bakersfield came in the top of the ninth inning, when left fielder Joseph Papasogli stroked a 2-2 sinker to left-center for a 2-run double, putting Bakersfield up, 5-3.

Royse City manager John Williams said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
