The Jersey City Sun Caps powered past the Sunset District Fog, 9-4, at Jersey City Grounds. Eddie O'Bryan went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once, to lead the charge. Raúl Gómez was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. Jersey City bumps their record to 48-32 with the win.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the fourth, with the game tied, Miguel Cruz was at the plate when Jersey City scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Sun Caps to go in front, 3-2.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Rich Harris said.
