Nobles Squelch Sunset District Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Bakersfield Nobles eeked out a 3-0 win versus the Sunset District Fog at Fog Park. Nobody did more than pitcher John Kirk, who captured player of the game honors. Kirk picked up the win for Bakersfield, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Getting the save was Jim Unknown, his 1st.
Stephen Dowell didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring double to put Bakersfield on top, 1-0.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Dowell.
Bakersfield, at 38-27, occupies 4th place in the Premier AAA.
