Loss to Bowties Extends Northern Virginia Losing Streak
|
In a close game at Ballpark of Northern Virginia, the Buckhead Bowties edged the Northern Virginia Retrievers, 4-1. Buckhead first baseman Gregg Young earned the nod as player of the game after he belted 2 home runs. Kyle Buckman recorded the save for Buckhead, his 2nd of the season. The loss drops Northern Virginia to 2-7.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth when Young hit a solo home run. It propelled the Bowties into the lead, 1-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Buckhead Bowties manager Kerry Hofmeister.
