Kiyomizu goes 4-for-5 as Retrievers Squeeze Past Boston

The Northern Virginia Retrievers turned back the Boston Patriots, 11-3, at Dunkin Donuts Park. Shohei Kiyomizu was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Aurelio López got the win, improving to 7-7. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Ben Logan got the save, his 4th in 4 chances.
Also producing for Northern Virginia was right fielder Francisco Ornelas, who stroked a 2-run single in the top of the first. For the game, Ornelas was 2-5 with 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager David Lenlister said.
