Florida got a terrific performance from designated hitter Al Thomas, but it wasn't enough to beat the Pawnee ParksNRec. Pawnee won the Whips Ballpark contest, 9-8. Thomas was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. Pawnee reliever Howard Ritchie picked up the win, upping his record to 6-0. Alberto Ríos absorbed the loss. The Pawnee winning streak has now reached 4 games.

The ParksNRec were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when catcher Jorge Aicón turned a 1-1 fastball from Alberto Ríos into a 3-run home run. The walk-off home run sent a roar through the crowd and gave Pawnee a thrilling 9-8 win.

"This wasn't a good win," said Aicón. "It was a great win."
