Oaks Slip Past Panama City, 2-1

The Oakland Oaks got a magnificent performance from pitcher Júlio Martínez, who muffled the Panama City offense en route to a tight 2-1 Oaks win at Oakland Coliseum. Oakland reliever Júlio Saldaña was the winner. His record is now 5-5. Tobías Pérez took the loss. Oakland bumps their record to 46-39 with the win.
In the bottom of the 8th, right fielder Mal Wadley gave Oakland the lead when he hit a 2-run double. The Oaks had been trailing 1-0, but the two-out double off Panama City pitcher Juan Pérez changed that -- and Oakland went on to win.
"I had pretty much everything working," said Martínez.
