Late Rally by Nobles Secures Win
|
Bakersfield beat Milton at Milton Corner Tavern, eking out a 7-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Bernie Sanders, who earned player of the game honors. Sanders was the winning pitcher and moves to 4-1. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. With the win, Bakersfield goes to 15-16, while the Dogfish Head fall to 9-22.
Bakersfield took the lead in the top of the eighth. With two out and the bases loaded, Logan Cole stroked a grand slam home run to make it 7-3, Nobles.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Sanders.
