Win Streak Now at 6 for Sun Caps
|
The Jersey City Sun Caps extended their winning streak at Jerome Grounds.
The Jersey City Sun Caps topped the Bakersfield Nobles, 8-5, with Shohei Kiyomizu playing a big role. Kiyomizu went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Sun Caps in the win. Javier Desdin, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 9 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 1. His record now stands at 4-2. Jim Unknown earned the save, his 1st, for the Sun Caps.
The Sun Caps got a big at-bat from Ernest Miller. For the game, Miller was 1 for 3. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 27th hit of the season gave Jersey City a 3-2 lead.
