Nobles Get One-Run Win at Royse City
|
Bakersfield overcame a superlative game from Jorge Garza to beat Royse City, 8-5. The Royse City catcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He went 2 for 3 with a triple and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Elvin Brooks earned the win for Bakersfield. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 2-2. Losses have been few and far between for the Targaryens, who are now 13-3.
In the top of the sixth inning, center fielder Arnie Latham came through big-time for the Nobles. With Bakersfield leading 3-2, he belted a 3-run home run.
Latham called the triumph "a good team win."
