It was a good time at Springfield Stadium, where fans came to watch the Virginia Beach Deuces and Springfield Shooters get after it.

The Springfield Shooters picked up a win at Springfield Stadium, knocking off the Virginia Beach Deuces, 4-3. Starting pitcher Fernando Ramírez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Walt Cooley earned his 16th save in 18 chances.

Bubba Blevins was a key contributor to the win for the Shooters. In the bottom of the eighth with no one out, the light-hitting second baseman stroked a double to left. He went 2 for 4 with a double.

"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Ramírez. "Successful pitchers do it."

The Shooters now have a record of 58-39.
