The 2025 season did not get off to quite the start the Buckhead Bowties had hoped, with an opening day loss to the D.C. Divided at Buckhead Grounds. The final score was 7-6. Left Fielder Charles Mathes was named player of the game for D.C.. Domingo Posadas picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Ramón Torres was tagged with the loss.

D.C. took the lead in the top of the seventh. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Lúcio López stroked a run-scoring single to make it 7-6, Divided.

"I was able to barrel up some pitches," said Mathes.
