Rails Bang Out 6-4 Win Versus Virginia Beach
|
The Richland Rails topped the Virginia Beach Deuces, 6-4, with Roberto Ríos playing a big role. Ríos was 2 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Rails in the win. Maxwell Simon got credit for the win, improving to 6-5. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits in 6.1 innings. Jim Unknown, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
Ríos had a game-changing home run in the top of the third. On a full count fastball from Ronaldo Baghina, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Rails a 3-0 lead. It was the 9th home run of the year for Ríos.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Ríos.
The first-place Rails have won 6 in a row.
