The San Bernardino Grasshoppers got a superb performance from pitcher Jim Unknown. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Ft. Polk South. The Thunder Hawks won the game, 6-2. In spite of the loss, Unknown was named the player of the game. He threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. San Bernardino has now lost 6 in a row.

Manuel Rodríguez had the most critical at-bat for Ft. Polk South, coming in the top of the ninth inning with two out and the bases loaded. Rodríguez hit a 1-1 fastball from Héctor Valentín for a 2-run single. It put Ft. Polk South in front, 4-2.
