Polar Bears Lose to Rails in Walk Off
|
The Richland Rails did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Billings Polar Bears at Rails Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Scott Mildren, who captured player of the game honors. Richland reliever Jim Unknown picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Ángel Ruíz shouldered the loss. Richland leads the Menard's AA by 9½ games.
Richland won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. That's when catcher Adrian Rodgers hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Rails fans to their feet.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Mildren said.
