Deuces Reel Off Another Win
|
The Virginia Beach Deuces picked up a win at Field of the Grasshoppers, knocking off the San Bernardino Grasshoppers, 4-3. Starting pitcher Cisco Ortíz, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The save went to Jim Unknown, his 1st this season. San Bernardino now has a 5-game losing streak.
It could have been a different outcome for Virginia Beach, had it not been for Jorge Salgado, the 21-year old center fielder . Salgado contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the sixth inning to put Virginia Beach up, 4-1.
"There's a lot of good karma around our club," said winning manager Raúl Méndez.
