Polar Bears Take 10-2 Pounding
|
The Glendale Herons picked up a win at The Igloo, knocking off the Billings Polar Bears, 10-2. Starting pitcher Mike Barrett played a key role in the triumph. Barrett got the win, improving to 5-5. He allowed 7 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. Barrett allowed no earned runs. At 41-46, the Herons are currently 9th in the Menard's AA.
The Herons got a big at-bat from Lúcio Sánchez. For the game, Sánchez was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run single. His 51st hit of the season gave Glendale a 2-0 lead.
Billings manager Alfonso Rivera called the blowout loss "ugly."
