Loss to Rails Extends Ottawa Losing Streak
|
The Richland Rails topped the Ottawa Nationals by the score of 10-5, with the largest share of the credit going to shortstop Roberto Soto. Soto went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Rails. Maxwell Simon was the winning pitcher. Over 5 innings, he allowed 1 run on 3 hits, with 5 walks and 6 strikeouts. At 56-25, the Rails find themselves in first place in the Menard's AA.
Also playing a key role was Jorge Greenbaum. The Richland designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, Greenbaum went 2 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"I like our mindset right now," said Richland manager Paul Baker.
