The Battle Ground Aeros went home winners at Battle Ground Stadium, thanks in large part to starter José Lucero. Lucero silenced the Virginia Beach Deuces, enabling Battle Ground to grab the 1-0 win. Yajirobei Otomo picked up the save for Battle Ground, his 13th of the year. Even with the win, the Battle Ground Aeros have a dismal 26-55 record.
A decisive at-bat came in the bottom of the second inning. With runners on 1st and 2nd, the batter, Juan Camacho, hit a run-scoring single. It made the score 1-0, Battle Ground, and helped them go on to win.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Lucero.
