Herons Fall to Grasshoppers, 8-6
|
Despite a great performance by Glendale first baseman Lúcio Sánchez, the San Bernardino Grasshoppers defeated the Herons by the score of 8-6 at Field of the Grasshoppers. Sánchez was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Earning his 19th save of the year was Héctor Valentín. San Bernardino, now 44-36, holds 4th place in the Menard's AA.
Marcos Deleón found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Glendale hurler Lindsay Turner, the 21-year-old pinch hitter reached on an error by the P, driving in 1 run. His 7th RBI of the season put the Grasshoppers on top, 7-6.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said San Bernardino Grasshoppers manager António Macías. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
