Lancaster Bats Go Silent in 1-0 Loss
|
In a tight battle between the Richland Rails and the Lancaster Farmers, pitcher Scott Mildren was in the zone. The Richland left-hander was named the player of the game in Richland's 1-0 win. Mildren picked up the win for Richland, going 5.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 8-3. The Rails' win now puts them at 53-25.
Richland took the lead in the bottom of the fifth on a big hit from Adrian Rodgers. On a 1-0 forkball from Stewart Fleming, Rodgers hit a run-scoring double. That made it 1-0, Rails. For the day, Rodgers was 1 for 3 with a double.
"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Mildren.
