Glendale Beats Virginia Beach, 3-2
|
The Glendale Herons topped the Virginia Beach Deuces, 3-2, in M3L Double A action at Heron Field. The player of the game was Glendale pitcher and Vidalia, Georgia native Ralph Horn. Earning his 13th save of the year was José Peña. Glendale bumps their record to 34-35 with the win.
It could have been a different outcome for Glendale, had it not been for Jordan Hollins, the 23-year old shortstop . Hollins contributed a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the seventh inning to put Glendale up, 3-2.
Virginia Beach manager Raúl Méndez said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
