Grasshoppers Deal Rails 8-1 Setback
The San Bernardino Grasshoppers beat the Richland Rails, 8-1, at Field of the Grasshoppers. The win was largely due to the efforts of first baseman Mario Nieves, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Peter Hall earned the win for San Bernardino. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 5 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 5-3. San Bernardino is 8th in the Menard's AA with a record of 31-32.

One important at-bat came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, when Nieves hit a grand slam. The Grasshoppers went on to win.
