Grasshoppers Suffer 7-6 Setback

The Richland Rails had to overcome a big game from San Bernardino catcher Zuberi Mccray to leave Field of the Grasshoppers with a 7-6 victory. Mccray went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times. Richland reliever Carlos Barajas was the winner. His record is now 4-1. Carlos Peret took the loss. Earning his 12th save for Richland was An Jang-Yop.
Chris Stoltzfus's at-bat in the top of the ninth was significant for the Rails. Coming to the plate with the bases loaded and Richland leading 6-5, the right fielder drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
In postgame remarks, Stoltzfus said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
Richland leads the Menard's AA by 3 games.
