Tight Tilt Goes to Deuces, 4-2
|
The Virginia Beach Deuces picked up a win at Heron Field, knocking off the Glendale Herons, 4-2. Starting pitcher Mark Bell played a key role in the triumph. Bell picked up the win for Virginia Beach, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Jim Unknown closed the game out for Virginia Beach, earning his 1st save.
Virginia Beach took the lead in the top of the second on a big hit from Juan Perales. On a full count fastball from Ralph Horn, Perales hit a run-scoring double. That made it 1-0, Deuces. For the day, Perales was 1-3 with a double and a walk.
"Good win," said Bell. "Maybe some of the whiners in the clubhouse will pipe down now for a little while."
The Deuces improve their record to 26-28 with the win over Glendale.
