Polar Bears Go Down to Defeat, 5-4
|
Atlantic City withstood an impressive performance by Billings center fielder Logan Namajunas to defeat the Polar Bears, 5-4, at Sonics Ballpark. Namajunas was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Ted Wright earned the save, his 11th, for the Sonics. Atlantic City, at 25-28, sits in 7th place in the Menard's AA.
San Cristóbal, Dominican Republic-born José Cordero came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd and the Sonics trailing 1-0, he hit a 3-run home run to right to put Atlantic City on top.
In postgame remarks, Cordero said: "We put it together today and came out with the win -- that's the main thing."
