The D.C. Divided got a magnificent performance from pitcher Yoriyoshi Yamamoto, who muffled the Oakland offense en route to a tight 2-1 Divided win at Washington Stadium. D.C. reliever Edgardo Marín got the win, raising his record to 3-1. Júlio Saldaña was tagged with the loss. The Divided saw their record improve to 41-33.

D.C. took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Ray Sears hit a clutch solo home run to bring Divided fans to their feet.

"Yoriyoshi was throwing free and easy," said D.C. manager Jonathan Gerth.
