Nationals Come Up Short at Springfield
|
Springfield starter Ryan Peterson had a strong outing against the Ottawa Nationals at Springfield Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 6-0 win. Peterson got the win, improving to 6-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Peterson allowed no earned runs. The Nationals, now 20-26, have lost 5 straight.
Early in the game, third baseman Fernando Rivera had a 3-run home run for Springfield. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Shooters on top, 3-0.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling pretty confident after that win," said Peterson.
