Oaks Win at D.C., 4-3
|
Oakland withstood an impressive performance by D.C. left fielder Wilfred McLaughlin to defeat the Divided, 4-3, at Washington Stadium. McLaughlin went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Mark Simmons, credited with the save, is now 15 for 17 in save opportunities. Oakland, at 40-33, sits in 5th place in the Division I.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the top of the sixth. That's when Manuel Rodríguez reached on an error by the C. The Oaks went on to win.
"We'll savor this win," Rodríguez told the Oakland Herald, "then get ready for the next game."
