Grasshoppers Bump Off Thunder Hawks, 7-4
|
Grasshoppers catcher Zuberi Mccray put his stamp on his team's 7-4 win over the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks. Mccray was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for San Bernardino in the contest. San Bernardino reliever César Valdéz picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Júlio Palácios was saddled with the loss. San Bernardino occupies 9th place in the Menard's AA at 16-21.
Enrico Betancourt had a clutch at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for the Grasshoppers. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and San Bernardino trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Betancourt told the San Bernardino Observer.
