Polar Bears Fall to .500 After Loss to Sixshooters
In a well-pitched game between the Westwood Sixshooters and the Billings Polar Bears, pitcher Roberto Covas was superb. The Westwood right-hander was named the player of the game in Westwood's 3-1 win. In 6.2 innings, Covas surrendered 1 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Alfredo Hernández picked up the save for Westwood, his 9th of the year.

Also producing for Westwood was center fielder Arnold Smith, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, Smith went 1 for 4.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Covas said.

The Sixshooters improve their record to 23-13 with the win over Billings.
