Polar Bears Bump Off Sixshooters, 6-2
|
Sixshooters Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Billings Polar Bears and the Westwood Sixshooters.
Jorge Díaz left his imprint on the 6-2 Billings win against the Westwood Sixshooters. Díaz, who is tied for 4th in the 3AA in stolen bases with 9, was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Billings reliever Wyatt Meek was credited with the win, to go to 2-0. Nicholas Adams took the loss for Westwood.
Díaz came through with some timely hitting for Billings. With the score 3-2 in the top of the ninth and two down, Díaz hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season -- and a big reason the Polar Bears managed to win.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Díaz said after the game.
Billings, at 18-17, sits in 5th place in the Menard's AA.
