Polar Bears Get Past Springfield for 7-5 Win
The Billings Polar Bears and Springfield Shooters obliged those fans who came to Springfield Stadium looking for a good time.

Springfield got a terrific game from second baseman Javier Vásquez. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Billings, 7-5. Vásquez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. José Maestas earned the save, his 4th, for the Polar Bears.

Dale Carney broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the ninth with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Polar Bears in front, 6-5. For the game, Carney drove in one run.

In postgame comments to the Billings News, Carney said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

With the win, Billings goes to 13-13, while the Shooters fall to 15-11.
