Win Streak Now at 7 for Shooters
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Guillermo Castro, the Springfield Shooters defeated the San Bernardino Grasshoppers, 8-4. Castro went 4 for 5 with 4 singles for the Shooters. Dustin Richmond was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. With their winning streak at 7, the Springfield Shooters have raced to a strong start this season.

The Shooters beat the Grasshoppers in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the single Marcos Adame produced in the top of the fourth. Batting against San Bernardino pitcher Jorge Cruz, he gave his team a 5-3 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
