Tight Tilt Goes to Rails, 1-0
|
The Richland Rails did just enough to sneak past the Ottawa Nationals, 1-0, at Rails Ballpark. Richland pitcher Manuel Morales earned player of the game honors. Richland reliever Manuel Morales was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Carlos Domínguez took the loss for Ottawa. An Jang-Yop closed the door for Richland, picking up his 2nd save of the year.
In the bottom of the first, Jung-hwan Kwon hit a run-scoring single for Richland. The 24th hit of the season for the Richland third baseman put the Rails on top, 1-0.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Morales said.
Richland, now 11-5, has gotten their season off to a good start.
