Farmers Get One-Run Win at Virginia Beach
|
In a tight battle between the Lancaster Farmers and the Virginia Beach Deuces, pitcher Paco Peña was in the zone. The Lancaster right-hander was named the player of the game in Lancaster's 3-1 win. Peña was the winning pitcher and moves to 2-1. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. António Torrez picked up the save for Lancaster, his 5th of the year.
The Farmers got a big at-bat from Ramón Gómez. For the game, Gómez went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Lancaster a 3-0 lead.
