It was a good time at Springfield Stadium, where fans came to watch the Battle Ground Aeros and Springfield Shooters get after it.
Springfield right-hander Chuck Steele pitched his team to victory over the Battle Ground Aeros at Springfield Stadium. The final score was 7-1. With the loss, Battle Ground falls to 7-7.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the second inning when the Shooters sent teenager Roland Deschain to the plate against Aeros hurler César Manoel. With runners on 1st and 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a first pitch fastball to score 1.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Deschain told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
