Qualtrough Tags Oaks for 5 Hits

"It was like I was hitting little league pitching," Mitch Qualtrough said after his 5-hit performance against the Oaks. "No offense meant to Oakland, but it was like I was back in little league again. I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid park, it was Oakland Coliseum."
The Richardson City shortstop had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and pacing his club to a 8-2 victory.
His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying Qualtrough spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Qualtrough said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Mitch Qualtrough singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Dave Mitchell in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
In his stats this season, Qualtrough has posted a batting average of .320 with 88 hits in 275 at-bats, 2 home runs and 33 RBIs. He has also scored 43 runs, walked 21 times and compiled a .370 OBP.
