Loss Extends Glendale Losing Streak
|
Quentin Bowers never let the Glendale Herons find their groove. Throughout the game, Bowers, who was drafted in the two round of the 2023 draft, relied on his bread and butter, his fastball, in pitching the Thunder Hawks to a win. Jim Unknown picked up the save for Ft. Polk South, his 1st of the year. The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, now 8-3, have been on a roll in the early going.
Ft. Polk South took a 2-1 lead on Ramón Valdéz's 12th hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Valdéz hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Glendale pitcher José Ortíz visibly frustrated.
"I had pretty much everything working," said Bowers.
