Deuces Get One-Run Win at Westwood
|
Pitcher Jim Unknown was sensational for the Virginia Beach Deuces in his team's 7-1 triumph over the Westwood Sixshooters. Unknown received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Unknown, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. With the loss, Westwood sinks to 5-4.
Also doing his part was right fielder Harry Freidricks, who stroked a 2-run single in the top of the second for Virginia Beach. For the game, Freidricks was 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Freidricks told the Virginia Beach Daily News.
