Dodgers Bump Off BC, 5-1
|
"Getting ahead of the hitters is the key," said Kaufman.
Brooklyn starter John Kaufman pitched effectively against the Louisville BC at Louisville Park. The right-hander led his team to a 5-1 win. Brooklyn reliever Barry Jones was credited with the win, to go to 2-3. Robert Anderson took the loss for Louisville.
The most important at-bat for Brooklyn came in the top of the ninth inning, when first baseman Leonard O'Connor stroked a first pitch fastball to left for a run-scoring single, putting Brooklyn up, 2-1.
Kaufman attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
With the win, the Dodgers have a record of 56-52.
