The D.C. Divided and Panama City Piranhas were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Washington Stadium.
Flores never let D.C. get something going. The Panama City right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Piranhas to a win. Flores, now 3-6, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 1 earned run.
Also playing a key role was Sergio Muńóz. The Panama City right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh. For the game, Muńóz went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said D.C. manager Jonathan Gerth.
Panama City is 8th in the Division I with a record of 26-43.
