Multi-HR Day for Sánchez as Nuggets Overpower Red Knights, 6-4
|
With first baseman Javier Sánchez leading the charge, the Rocky Mountain Nuggets defeated the Capital District Red Knights, 6-4, at Capital Grounds. Sánchez, who is tied for 2nd in the 3L in RBI with 72, hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Kenny Powers recorded his 11th save for Rocky Mountain. The Nuggets go to 56-49, putting them 5th in the Division III.
Rocky Mountain grabbed the momentum in the top of the eighth, when Sánchez, who is on pace to hit 24 home runs this season, hit a solo home run. His 23rd home run put the Nuggets out in front, 4-3.
"Feels good to get the job done," Sánchez said after the game.
