Rocky Mountain got a terrific performance from pitcher Cipriano Costa, but it wasn't enough to beat the Louisville BC. Louisville won the Louisville Park contest, 5-3. Costa was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Robert Anderson converted his 16th save in 19 tries. Louisville has now won 4 in a row.
In the bottom of the 7th, center fielder Eddie Ménard gave Louisville the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The BC had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Rocky Mountain pitcher Jorge Garza changed that -- and Louisville went on to win.
In postgame remarks, Ménard said: "We put it together today and came out with the win -- that's the main thing."
