In a low-scoring contest between the Rocky Mountain Nuggets and the Seattle Aviators, pitcher Félix Jiménez was at the top of his game. The Rocky Mountain right-hander was named the player of the game in Rocky Mountain's 3-0 win. Jiménez went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 5, and struck out 7. His record improves to 8-4. The 5th-place Nuggets now have a win-loss record of 53-46.
Javier Sánchez, who is tied for 5th in the 3L in home runs with 21, aided the Rocky Mountain cause with a 2-run double in the top of the eighth. For the game, the first baseman was 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Seattle skipper Mau Delgado, "and it cost us."
