Velázquez Hits 2 home runs in BC Win
|
The Chicago Hawks and Louisville BC provided some drama at Louisville Park.
The Louisville BC powered past the Chicago Hawks, 12-4, at Louisville Park. Luis Velázquez went 3-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 3, to lead the charge. The winner was Leroy Picot, who threw 96 pitches over 8 innings. The right-hander was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits.
Though it wasn't a flawless game -- none is -- the fans who filled the stands at Louisville Park seemed to enjoy watching the Third League action.
"It feels good to get that win," said Velázquez. "Now it's on to the next one."
The Hawks, now 35-63, have lost 7 straight.
