Red Knights Topple BC as Mosca Shines
|
The Capital District Red Knights and Philadelphia 1776 BC obliged those fans who came to Capital Grounds looking for a good time.
The Capital District Red Knights downed the Philadelphia 1776 BC, 8-6, at Capital Grounds. The Red Knights were led by Danilo Mosca, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Miguel Toro closed the door for Capital District, picking up his 17th save of the year.
The game was at a stalemate until shortstop José Paz came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Philadelphia 1776 pitcher Han-lee Pak, he hit a 3-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Capital District on top, 7-6.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Don Lookingbill said.
